TESTING ENGINEERS AND CONSULTANTS [2016] PROJECT MANAGER: RUBAN RAMOS

While working for Testing Engineers and Consultants, I had the opportunity to conduct multiple analyses for the renovation of the 555 Old Woodward building in Birmingham, Michigan.  This renovation included the addition of a curtain wall to the south apartment tower and the north office complex.  The projects were completed for the use of Luckenbach Ziegelman Architects.  These projects were conducted under the supervision of professional engineers Ruben Ramos and Paul Stutsman.  First an efficiency analysis was conducted to determine how the new curtain wall system would impact the energy expenditure of the building.   As a project technician, I reviewed the efficiency of the curtain wall assembly, as to understand the potential changes the new design could have on energy consumption.  I also compared multiple ventilation scenarios, specifically, in relation to the building’s seasonal energy demands.
